Setting Up MS Outlook Express E-mail Program - page one.
|
Configuring Ms Outlook. This is a complete set of step-by-step instructions for configuring the Outlook Express e-mail client
program for use with your domain hosting or extra mailbox account. The procedure is similar for Outlook and key differences will be mentioned. If you are simply forwarding mail sent to your domain to another email address then you do not need these instructions.
|
|
Locate mail accounts. Start the Microsoft Outlook Express program as normal.
We are assuming that the program is already configured with the settings specified by
your ISP. The program should start with your default identity configuration. The first
action is to create a new account for your domain's mailbox. From the
Tools menu, select the Accounts option as indicated by the
red arrow. If you are using Outlook instead of Outlook Express, go to 'Tools'->'Services' instead of 'Tools'->'Accounts'.
|
Add a new mail account A new window entitled
Internet Accounts appears on top of the main program window. The Mail tab
should be on top by default. If it is not, switch to the Mail tab by clicking on it. You
should now see a list of mail accounts configured for your current identity. Press the
Add button. A menu should drop down next to the Add button. Click on the Mail
option as indicated by the red arrow to begin the setup process. If you are using Outlook instead of Outlook Express, choose 'Add' from the 'Services' window and then choose 'Internet E-mail' and then hit 'OK'.

|
|
Set your name. A new window should has appeared on top.
This is the first window of the Internet Connection Wizard program, which will guide you through the
rest of the setup process for your mailbox. Enter your desired display name in the text box provided (red arrow).
This name can be anything you like, and is the name that recipients of your emails will se. When you have finished, click the Next button to
move on to the next screen, where you will enter your e-mail address. In Outlook, enter a name for this account and then enter the separate user information below.
